Many people may see rimless eyeglasses frames as being a modern design, but did you know that rimless glasses have been part of the eyeglasses world since the 1800s? Rimless glasses are starting to attract a variety of people who have been given a strong eyeglasses prescription. Rimless glasses can offer you the comfort and convenience you need in eyeglasses. Can rimless eyeglasses be suitable for your needs and your current lifestyle?

Pro 1: Your Glasses Can Go Unnoticed

Many people are worried about wearing eyeglasses because they are afraid of how they will look. When you wear rimless eyeglasses, it will look like you have no glasses on your face. Wearing rimless eyeglasses will allow you to fix your visual needs without having to deal with the worries and fear of anyone noticing your eyeglasses.

Pro 2: Fashionable

As stated above, rimless glasses have been around since the 1800s. Regardless of how long the glasses have been around, they are still considered classy and fashion-forward. The bridges and screws work together to connect the glasses. As a result, the glasses will look invisible to many people. When wearing rimless glasses, you will be able to reveal more features and aspects of your face. These are only a few reasons why rimless glasses have become a favorite for many people.

Pro 3: No Limits On Lenses

When you wear rimless glasses, there will be no restrictions or limits when it comes to the size of your lenses or the shape of your lenses. You may be surprised at all the options you will have when you make the decision to wear rimless glasses. You will have a variety of options on the table. If you like having control over customization of your glasses, you will appreciate the benefits of wearing rimless glasses. Rimless glasses may require you to wear lens materials of a different quality than you may be used to, but these lenses will be thin and light. You will be able to wear lighter and thinner lenses even if you have been given a higher prescription.

Pro 4: Rimless Glasses Are Lightweight

You can wear rimless glasses for the entire day and you will not feel any pressure or strain on your face like you would with metal frames. How is that possible? Rimless glasses will not put any pressure on your face because they are so lightweight. Since rimless glasses are not heavy on your face, you will not have to worry about any scratches or marks on your face. Many people prefer to wear rimless glasses because of the comfortable feeling they have when they wear them.

Pro 5: Rimless Glasses Are Cost-Effective

Since the rimless frames are nearly non-existent, the costs for manufacturing rimless frames are relatively low compared to the metal frames or plastic frames. How much do you think it will cost to manufacture your rimless eyeglasses? The cost of your rimless frames will mostly depend on the brand of glasses you choose. Even if you choose one of the more well-known brands of glasses, you can still obtain the glasses at a price you can afford because of the low cost of production.

Con 1: No Frames

Since there is no frame around your eyeglass lenses, the rimless glasses may be more susceptible to breaking. If you are not very careful with your glasses, you may have to replace them on a constant basis. It is important that you take care of your glasses as best you can. If you plan to participate in activities that can result in damaged glasses, we suggest that you do not wear the rimless glasses for those activities. You can choose to wear a different style of glasses that will be better suited for those activities and wear your rimless glasses for other uses.

Con 2: The Price Tag

If you plan to purchase rimless glasses that are made with great detail and style, you will discover that the price tag for rimless glasses may be a little higher than they would be with other glasses frames. The rimless style will require a little more time and effort. Rimless glasses will require the use of high-quality materials and specific structures. While the materials being used will result in durable glasses, you can expect to pay a higher price compared to other glasses.

In the past I had several pair of rimless, with plastic lenses.
Recently I sent you a frame and had you put glass lenses in it.
Is it at all possible to get glass lenses put into rimless frames like the old glasses of the 1940’s?

  2. Edward Hartman says:

It mentions that rimless glass should not be used if participating in activities which could possibly result in damage to the glasses. What if you are active in photography where eye will be viewing the camera view finder; or hiking, golfing. Are these non impact activities ok for rimless glass ?

  3. Aleene Simpson says:

I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL WITH RIMLESS GLASSES. IS THERE A WAY THAT THE COMPANY CAN REINFORCE THE OUTTER LENSE TO MAKE THEM A LITTLE STURDIER TO HANDLE AND WEAR?

    • rxsafety says:

Unfortunately the rimless are usually only held together by two tiny drill holes and that is where they always seem to crack most times. We do put a plastic sleeve in the hole before assembly and it seems to help but there is nothing else we can do to make them more durable.

  4. Emily Clark says:

Yes definitely stylish sunglasses are most trendy. I have different types of collections and recently ordered a wooden polarized sunglasses form Shade tree sunglasses online store. It’s really amazing.
