HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR GLASSES SIZE

Embarking on the quest for the ideal glasses size is a crucial step towards achieving both style and comfort. At RX Safety, we’ve crafted a comprehensive guide to assist you on this journey. Discover the secrets to ensuring a perfect fit for your glasses and elevate your eyewear experience.

1

LOCATE YOUR FRAME’S MEASUREMENTS

Look on the inside of your current pair of glasses for three sets of numbers, typically found on the arms (temple bar) or the bridge (the part that goes over your nose). Decode these numbers to discover your frame’s measurements:

Frame Measurement Locate

52 – 20 – 150

52 Lens Width: Refers to the horizontal width of each lens at its broadest point.

20 Nose Bridge Width: Represents the space between your two lenses, determining how your frames sit against your nose.

150 Temple Bars Length: Is the measurement from the screw to the temple tip, encompassing the bend that rests behind your ear.

MEASURE YOUR CURRENT FRAME

If the numbers have rubbed off due to wear and tear, don’t worry. You can measure your current frame to determine its dimensions.

Accurate Measurement

Begin by measuring the lens width, the horizontal span of each lens at its widest point, typically falling between 40mm and 62mm. If you’re rocking aviators or wrap around frames, don’t fret if the lens width exceeds 60mm – it’s perfectly acceptable!

Proceed to the bridge width, gauging the space between your two lenses. In simpler terms, the bridge width is the gap where your frames snugly sit against your nose, with sizes ranging from 14mm to 24mm.

Next up is the temple (arm) length, measuring from the screw to the temple tip, encompassing the curvature that rests behind your ear. This measurement varies from 120mm to 150mm.

Finally, for those considering bifocal or progressive lenses, measure the lens height – the vertical dimension of the lenses at their widest point within the frame. If the lens height falls below 30mm, it’s advisable to opt for a different frame for progressive lenses.
